When programming in TIGCC, most of the time there is no need to call commands from TI Basic. cmd_cirle is such a command, so I highly recommend
against the use of it. Insead, try DrawClipEllipse.
Here is a sample program that illustrates the use of DrawClipEllipse.

It's uncommon to call most cmd_* functions from ASM programs, unless the ASM programs are event-driven (which is itself uncommon, not least because it can
be a can of worms):
* most TI-BASIC functions have faster, easier to use internal forms accessible in C or ASM, and the other internal functions accessible in C/ASM can enable using better algorithms that yield even faster programs. I once took advantage of that when reimplementing in C a TI-BASIC implementation of Aitken's Delta^2, and IIRC, Kevin's Gosper89 wouldn't be what it is if it didn't use some CAS functions inaccessible to TI-BASIC; * programming in C/ASM enables programmers to use static or dynamic libraries that sometimes reimplement stupidly implemented (slow) OS functions, or more often, implement brand-new ones in an optimized way. In C/ASM, you have full control over the hardware and software of the calculator. If you're used to TI-BASIC, you'll have to change your way of thinking so as to be able to open the possibilities unlocked by C/ASM 
But indeed, if calling TI-BASIC commands is really what you need to do, you'll indeed have to learn more about C, starting with pointers, and more about the OS (AMS), starting with the expression stack (which requires error handling, etc.). |
