I need help writing files in one program and reading them in another.
If someone could give me an example, preferably writing a structure to a file, that would help. Thank you. |

You have three ways to do this on this platform:
* the best way: use the built-in functions from vat.h. Besides programs such as TI-Chess 4.17 (IIRC), between many others, there are several tutorials on the Web, though I haven't saved any link in my bookmarks. Past the file creation / opening phase, you're doing memory-mapped I/O, just as you would do with mmap() on POSIX platforms, so you can use memcpy to read and write structs; * the second best way: use the standard functions from stdio.h, which, on this platform, have been implemented on top of the vat.h functions. There is plenty of example code on the Web; * the worst way: use the built-in functions from files.h. These are very slow, and less flexible than the two other sets of functions are, so I recommend against using them. I'm just mentioning them for completeness.
