Now I built updated TIGCC RPMs:

• The RPM is now built from source using Fedora's default compiler flags, not from installed binaries.
• I fixed an ld-tigcc bug which was breaking it when compiled with Fedora's _FORTIFY_SOURCE flag (and backported the patch from the CVS repository into the RPM).
• A source RPM is now provided.
• A separate debugging information RPM (tigcc-debuginfo) is now generated, which can be used to debug TIGCC if one of the executables in TIGCC crashes.
• The A68k assembler has been split out into an optional tigcc-a68k package, so if you don't like its license, you don't have to install it anymore. (A68k has been optional and disabled by default in the Windows version for a long time, the RPMs now match this.)

The repository has been split into Free and non-Free sections; by default, calcforge-release enables both. The non-Free section currently contains tigcc-a68k (the A68k assembler, commercial use prohibited), tilem (the TilEm Z80 emulator, its CPU emulation core z80em prohibits commercial use) and tigcc-tools-suite (at least ttdasm contains code which doesn't allow commercial use, I also need to audit the other tools for code not covered by the relicensing OKed by Thomas and Lionel nor by the pucrunch relicensing).

(No, it's not a joke. )

What I really need is a list of files with licensing issues, I can do the split myself when packaging. I know about the MAME/VTI code in ttdasm, is there anything else you know about? But we'll have to go through all files to double-check in any case.

Everything else is OK to relicense under the LGPL with the pstarter exception.
For binaries, everything containing only code under the LGPL + pstarter exception and/or the WxWindows Library Licence can carry the pstarter exception. The binaries containing LGPL-only code (should be only ttpack) are LGPL-only.

I think I tracked down one of the authors of Tex (where the battery-checking code in ttbatt comes from): Loïc Minier (lool) is now a Debian developer, and as of 2006-09-21 was joinable at lool at debian dot oh are gee. See www.debian.org/vote/2006/vote_006.html. As both the full name and the nickname match, there's a high probability that this is the author we're looking for.

For tthedit, Dave Watson (TenorDave)'s e-mail address at hotmail.com should still be valid according to djwatson.livejournal.com/profile.

[EDIT: GdV and Lool's shell is called "Tex", not "TeX".]

It isn't for me either, because an rm -rf on that subdirectory isn't hard.

And were you able to contact the authors of the on-calc code or not yet?
